The Johnson City/Washington County NAACP held the annual Jubilee Day at New Zion True Gospel Tabernacle Church on New Years Day 2010. The Presider of the event was Rev. Rayford Johnson Musical Selection was provided by Ms. Huetta Isom , Mrs Emma Conley and the We Five Group. The Guest speaker was Elder Melvin Conley of Bethel Christian Church in Jonesborough. He was introduced by Mrs Dorthy Dobbins. Elder Conley spoke about Jubilee Day, Moses leading the Hebrews out of Egypt, Harriet Tubman leading the slaves to freedom, The 13th Amendment, the Emancipation Proclamation and Abraham Lincoln. He challanged the congregation to be ready to say "Here I am Lord send me". A wonderful meal was served by the New Zion kitchen staff.
